Fostering collaboration and community across disciplines.
The Stanford Global Development Association (SGDA) is a student organization at Stanford University dedicated to fostering collaboration and community among young leaders committed to addressing international development challenges.
Affiliated with the Stanford Center on Global Poverty and Development, a Stanford research center working to improve the lives of the world's poor, SGDA harnesses Stanford's unique interdisciplinary resources to help undergraduates translate their interest in international development issues into informed and meaningful action.
SGDA was founded in 2018 in response to a need among the undergraduate community on campus for a unified student organization that could serve as a centralized resource, communication channel, and community for students interested in global development issues. Through involvement in the SGDA community, students gain the opportunity to investigate careers in global development, hear from leading faculty, experts, and distinguished visitors, and find students who share their passion for improving the lives of society's disadvantaged through sound research and smart action.
